Creative, dynamic, energetic, and fun. This is how I would describe personal trainer Jay Holby, whom I have had the pleasure of training with for over 2 years.

Originally, I had intended to only sign up for 6 sessions, perfect the fundamentals of weight training, and then train on my own. However, after those sessions were completed, I realized the value in having a trainer, especially an exceptional trainer like Jay.

During each session, Jay emphasizes the importance of focusing on the muscle that I am working, rather than merely going through the motions. He also motivates me to complete each set to failure, instead of giving up when I feel tired. Each session is different, as he incorporates plyometrics, interval training, free weights and stretching, so that I never get bored with my workout routine.

Jay takes the time to listen to my goals and then create a program that is designed to achieve results. My goals were to decrease my body fat percentage and increase my overall strength, endurance and muscle tone. In the last 2 years, I have not only lost 4% body fat, but I successfully completed a strict 14-week training program, which Jay designed specifically to meet the requirements of the Muscletech Transformation Contest.

Overall, I feel that Jay's expertise in the fitness industry and the countless sessions he has spent training with me have contributed to my overall knowledge of training and helped me accomplish my goals. Due to my successful training experience, I recommended Jay to other clients and will continue to do so, for those people who are seeking an energetic and friendly personal trainer, who truly cares about his clients.

Working with Jay Holby, I lost 9% of my body fat and went from a size 18 to a size 12! At 41, I feel that I am in the best shape I've been in 20 years. Now my stamina and strength allow me to keep up with my active 10 and 12 year olds.

Before I worked with Jay, I tried to exercise on my own. I injured myself several times through poor technique. I only worked the areas where I was confident I could do the exercise. Since working with Jay I have been able to maintain a consistent regime for almost 2 years.

I'm 42 years old, and always thought I was just one of those guys who didn't have the genetic makeup to be very muscular. But working out regularly with Jay has taken me to a level way beyond anything I thought was possible.

After just two months of following a training program that Jay developed for me, I had the following results:

  • My percent body fat fell from 14.4% to 10.6%, representing a loss of about 6 pounds of fat.
  • I put on about 8 pounds of lean muscle mass.
  • My chest size increased by about an inch, as did both of my arms, forearms, and legs.

Jay is conscientious, knowledgeable, and a lot of fun to work out with. He really listened to me and to what I had to say about my fitness goals. Then he developed a training plan designed specifically for me. And, he mixes things up to keep it interesting.
